Sport is a preserver of health | Turkey Women in Sports
The local administration has built a sports centre in the turkish province of Van, where sports activities for women only have been started. So far more than 2,000 women have been registered here. The sports centre is hosting various women sports competitions also.
This sports center is built to enhance sports zeal between the turkey women specially after the Tokyo Olympics 2020, where Turkey women’s volleyball team stuns defending Olympic Champion China. These women have done what others can’t do. The Americans have won five Olympic medals in women’s volleyball, but never the gold.
President Erdogan congratulates team
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated the women’s volleyball team over the phone via Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, who is in Tokyo to support Turkish athletes. “You’ve made us proud. I watched the match from the first set. Convey our love to the girls,” President Erdoğan said.
