PM Of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif in Uzbekistan To Attend SCO 2022

The PM of Pakistan, Mr. Shahbaz Sharif is in Uzbekistan to attend the SCO Annual Summit 2022 (September 15-16, 2022).

As per reports, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif left on September 14 on his two-day visit to Uzbekistan (September 15-16, 2022) to attend the SCO-CHS. Prime Minister’s spokesperson says that he will also hold bilateral meetings with the co-leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on the occasion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.

This meeting of the heads of state of the council organizes annually to cooperate with the member countries of SCO. The global economic crisis has given rise to the need for more cooperation among the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The SCO vision represents the aspirations of 40 percent of the world’s population.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived at Samarkand Airport in Uzbekistan on September 14. Prime Minister of Uzbekistan warmly welcomed Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Shahbaz Sharif also visited Hazrat Khizr Complex and Islam Karimov’s Mausoleum in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has a delegation level meeting with the Tajik side in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. There, he met with President of Tajikistan H.E Emomali Rahmon along with Bilawal Bhutto- the foreign minister of Pakistan. President of Turkiye Tayyip Erdogan have also a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. In one of the photographs, President Erdogan can be seen while holding hand of Shahbaz. This gesture shows the love and brotherhood of the two states i.e Turkiye and Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Samarkand, Uzbekistan

On this occasion, the Russian President said that it is possible to supply gas from Russia to Pakistan through a pipeline, gas supply to Pakistan is possible from the already built infrastructure of Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Sources say that Russia agrees to fulfill Pakistan’s gas requirements at the time when Pakistan is passing through huge flood disaster. Putin and the PM of Pakistan discussed issues of economic cooperation particularly on energy sector enrichment. Putin says, Russia is ready to assist in providing assistance to victims of recent flooding in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also meets Irani President Ibrahim Raisi on the sidelines of the SCO Summit here in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. They also share their thoughts on mutual interests of the brother states. Bilateral relations and promotion of cooperation in various fields were discussed between two leaders.
